Households in need should be signing up for a Christmas hamper now.

The Fort Saskatchewan Food Bank is taking applications for hampers until Dec. 11. Anyone receiving a hamper must be a permanent resident of this community.

You can also get assistance with your Christmas hamper application at Families First Society and the Fort Saskatchewan Public Library.

Applicants will have to provide photo ID for each adult, Alberta Health cards or birth certificates for each child, and proof of Fort Saskatchewan residency, such as a current utility statement, or recent piece of government mail.

If you live in Fort Saskatchewan, but are without a fixed address, contact the food bank directly as the online application will not work for you.

Hampers will be delivered on Dec. 16, 2023, between 9 a.m. and noon.
