Fort hosts Terry Fox Run Sunday
Be part of the annual Terry Fox Run in Fort Saskatchewan this week.
The annual event takes place this Sunday, Sept. 17, at West Rivers Edge park. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m., with the run starting at 10 a.m..
The annual event celebrates the accomplishments of the famous Canadian one-legged runner who raised millions for the fight against cancer.
The Terry Fox Foundation has been raising money for cancer research for 40 years, gathering more than $400 million for the cause. The foundation uses 13 cents of every dollar raised for administrative and fundraising expenses.
Fort Saskatchewan organizers hope to raise $8,000 this year. Bicycles, rollerblades, wheelchairs and dogs are welcome for the five or 10-km routes.
