Traffic worries Southfort residents
Southfort residents support completion of proposed arterial road connections in their area, according to those attending open houses on the latest Southfort Area Structure Plan revision.
Most comments made by the 43 people attending the open house events called for quick completion of Allard Way, 94 Street and Southfort Boulevard.
They also strongly support the revised plan that does not include a road connecting Greenfield Way north to Highway 21.
Other comments included complaints about traffic noise, particularly construction equipment, trucks and even one complaint about the noise from school busses.
The trail system was praised, and more trails requested, including a pedestrian overpass over Highway 21.
“The majority of respondents remained silent on the rezoning and commented on other aspects of the proposed amendments,” staff told City Council this week. “Through working with the stakeholders, the City believes that the majority of the concerns have been alleviated by making minor updates to the road network and school site configuration in the southeast portion of the Plan area.”
