Lots of Halloween fun still ahead
Lots of Halloween fun still ahead
The past weekend was full of Halloween activities, but Trick or Treat is still a thing, and there is still more to enjoy.
The Fort Foundation offers a child-friendly candy hunt at its office at 10308 100 Avenue on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 30 and 31, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m..
Children are also invited to drop by Rivercrest Care Centre on Halloween from 10:15 to 12:30, or 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. to show off their costumes and get treats.
Local RCMP and City of Fort Saskatchewan officials also have some advice for those hitting the streets on Thursday:
Ensure costumes are bright, visible, and free of long trailing fabric to prevent tripping hazards.
Face paint allows for better visibility than a mask.
Only visit homes that are well-lit and welcoming to trick-or-treaters, and avoid houses that are dark.
Remind your kids to look both ways before crossing the street and to use sidewalks whenever possible. If there are no sidewalks, walk facing traffic.
Always supervise young children while trick-or-treating, and consider going in groups for added safety.
