The Santa Claus parade will be a little later this year.

The annual downtown event takes place on Friday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. rather than the usual Saturday morning time.

Holding the parade in the evening gives the downtown and the parade participants a chance to shine, the Chamber of Commerce parade committee  has decided.
