Almost half fail vehicle safety check
Almost half of vehicles failed a recent safety check by Fort Saskatchewan Municipal enforcement officers.
The commercial vehicle check stop on Highway 15 saw 40 vehicles pulled over and thoroughly inspected by local municipal enforcement members in partnership with Alberta Transportation, Edmonton Police Services, Alberta Sheriffs and multiple other community peace officer agencies.
Of the 40 vehicles inspected, 18 had to be towed away due to serious safety violations, according to Fort Saskatchewan Municipal Enforcement Services director Sgt. Ben Sharpe.
Minor repairs and adjustments were needed on six other vehicles.
The other 16 vehicles passed inspection, meeting all safety and compliance standards.
A total of 132 violations were found, further emphasizing the need for continuous enforcement and regular inspections to safeguard the well-being of all road users, Sharpe says.
